About Us //
The National Alliance for Children Living with HIV is an advocacy forum comprised of organizations, individuals, and experts in Indonesia who share the vision and mission of ensuring and promoting the fulfillment of the rights of children living with HIV in Indonesia. The alliance was initiated in December 2022 by the Positive Indonesia Network, the Indonesian Positive Women's Association, Lentera Anak Pelangi, and the Pelita Ilmu Foundation, with support from UNAIDS Indonesia.
The National Alliance for Children Living with HIV (NAHI) exists to address the need for a common platform that has been lacking in Indonesia. Numerous organizations have implemented various support and services for children living with HIV, but they remain separate and limited to specific regions. This alliance was formed not to replace these efforts, but rather to strengthen them through national collaboration.
As a joint advocacy forum, the alliance strives to mainstream the fulfillment of the rights of children living with HIV —including the right to health, protection, and a life free from stigma—into Indonesian policy and practice. As of January 2026, the National Alliance for Children Living with HIV has grown to include more than 30 organizations and 30 individuals from various sectors across Indonesia.
Background //
Children and adolescents living with HIV represent a group with highly specific needs, yet they are often invisible within the broader HIV response. For years, initiatives for children living with HIV have operated separately, in limited regions, and not been integrated into a single national advocacy framework. This has resulted in limited access to child-friendly services, policies that are not fully inclusive, and persistent stigma and discrimination.
The National Alliance for Children with HIV exists as a shared space to bridge these gaps, strengthen cross-sector coordination, and drive sustainable change for children and adolescents with HIV in Indonesia.
